I sent him a pm asking him what he thought about BC2 and said it was a shame he didn't come back.

He seems to enjoy it but no comment on if he will make a RP return - shame really.

Really enjoyed the ganza tonight - hardcore mode is really tough at times especially against good opponents.

It does lose one of the key elements in terms of spotting opponents as there is no hud tbh i think i prefer non-hardcore.

By the end of the night our comms were getting better in terms of supporting each other.

I think a really good squad would have one player from each class working closely together and we really missed the medic especially as we lost a few games mainly because our tickets run out due to deaths - i'm pretty sure if you get revived you don't lose a ticket.

BC2 is an awesome experience and Dice have to be applauded for what they have achieved.

I only realised you lot were playing hardcore when i found i couldnt spot anyone. Dont rate hc mode at all. Its not just spotting that goes but also points for sensor balls and without seeing squad mate positions on the radar, it makes it hard to know when to drop medi or ammo packs. Also think that rush is far better than conquest due to the narrow linear maps. I want mc style conquest with 5 flags not this watered down version.

Before i joined you i had the best ever game of rush. Finished top of the board with about 4900 points and a kd of 1.95. Got a badge worth 5000 point for having so many squad mates spawn on me as i stayed alive so long. I love downing helis with the unguided rpg. No one else even seems to try and its worth so many points. Also did a few tank kills with the powertool which is very satisfying. Engineer and medic are my favourite classes, medic for offence and engineer for defense. Love this game.

Yes, the mystery message from out of the blue. Explained by the recent(ish) angst on here concerning the lack of ganza methinks.

It's worth pointing out that BC2 is probably the best ganza game for you RP chaps in a long time. Even better than FC2, simply because you only need a squad of four to experience very effective teamwork that makes a difference in every mode. Squad up and boss the game. That should be the plan.

As with FC2 the game is harsh on noobs. Which is why noobs play Hardcore. The damage model of Hardcore negates the Specialisations and weaponry stats almost totally. It's a false economy in the long run. Stick to non-hardcore so you learn properly what the unlocks can do and where they're effective and how they can empower your squad. Get Koops in the game btw. Skilled BF2:MC players are very effective in Conquest since the old skills learned in that game can be applied here. You may have to convince him early doors that the game is as good as BF2:MC (noobs, harsh, fact) but it'll be worth it for your squad's effectiveness.

There is no lag in this game. Skill is rewarded. There's a huge range of options available for customising how you play (including playing as a sniper without actually touching a sniper rifle, very nice). It pisses all over MW2. It properly shits on it.

I'll see you in there maybe. Although I never noticed Punto for two whole games apparently. Too busy capping flags.

Peace.

If a player is revived you get your ticket back.

I like the medic as well and it seems to be my best class although i do seem to spend a lot of time just scanning the hud for people who need reviving/health and forgetting about kills/getting killed.

Need to play more, rank up and get better weapons for each class though. The XM8 just seems awesome and i've been killed very, very quickly by people using them.

Ah yes, i forgot about the lag part of the game. Like Crunch says i haven't noticed any, at all, on the few games i've played.

Went onto MW2 last night for a bit. Was playing very well against the AVF boys for once, and it went tits up and threw me out! MW2 is good for pick up and play, when it lets you play, but BC2 keeps up the "teamwork wins" model.

There's a BC2 video noob guide somewhere. I'll try and find it.

EDIT: Tried three times to hit a chopper last night with an RPG. No chance! Did it once in the demo but that's it!

I've gave every mode a decent session now and i reckon they all have value(even hardcore if played properly but you no chance of that with randoms).

I was very surprised how much i enjoyed the squad rush games i played, who'd have thought less is more.

For me one of the markers about how good a game is how does it rank when i get my arse felt in it.

MW2 can be such a frustrating experience that way but it's usually due to the fact that its as healthy as this underneath the bonnet.

I don't mind getting pwned by better players but when you are hamstrung by the game then it's a different story.

The game i played with titch last night on that demo map i found out a sweet little trick.

If you are attacking and you are on the last two M-COMs, sit back in the spawn (the cargo yard thing you just blew up) on that stationary rocket launcher thing looking up the hillside at the new targets. Keep hitting the back button and because you are scoped you'll spot a lot of enemies even at that distance. Also got a few kills with the guided missiles!

**** of a game still threw me the **** out before the game finished though.

If it wasn't for your love of BC:MC i'd say defo get this

In 10hrs of on-line gametime i've never felt cheated by the game the way MW2 can

I know you can sometime get owned by respawn kills but that's down to making a bad choice when re-spawning on a base or a team m8.

The netcode seems to be really strong and the server's are showing next to nothing in terms of lag or latency.

Asta - I've never had a disconnect when the server have been stable like that m8 - hows your net connection with other games? I noticed a few posts over on AVF with guys sorting out their issues with router reboots after yesterday's scheduled downtime.

Recently i've been losing internet connection, but for the last week or so, touch wood, it hasn't disconnected. I got randomly dropped from a game on MW2 last night as well so maybe it's a problem at my end?

Sounds like it m8 - you could be getting outage that you aint noticing causing you to drop out of games online.

Whats your connection setup broadband/cable? is your 360 wired/wireless? whats yer router? have you checked your SNR? do you have your router connected directly to your master socket?
